Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy: Unicorn Edition!

I have this thing with unicorns. When I was a precocious kid, I collected those fantasy/sci-fi figurines of unicorns (preferably fighting a multi-colored dragon). Now, I find that I'm drawn to the cutesy, whimsical unicorns more. Here are a few of my finds from my favorites on etsy. Note that I own or will soon own a few of these! :)

{love is magical - love the flowing hair!}

{unicorn noir plush - so sweet, loving the lace prints.}

{roping - i own a print of this and its beautiful!}

{your choice of keep calm unicorn prints - i choose "keep calm and gallop on"}

{rainbow squarnicorn - okay, not only is it adorable, but it's fun to say.}

{unicorn and owl aceo - love pen and ink!}

{fancy forest notepad - on a pad like this, my grocery list would look like: "milk, eggs, fairy dust, bread, world peace"}

{sleepy unicorn eye mask - this shop also boasts unicorn shoes!}

Enjoy my unicorn-themed finds!

Focus On... Michelle Chang Jewelry! {And A Giveaway!}

"To me, jewelry making is drawing, design, sculpture, and craft. It's art embodied in a tiny object, one that can be worn to become a part of the person wearing it."

Michelle is an incredibly talented jewelry designer and creator based in New York City. I came across her shop and was instantly in love. I'm sure you will be, too. Read on for an interview and a generous giveaway!

{banded pyramid ring - my fave!!}

What kind of mediums do you use and why?
I use sterling silver and gold, as well as semi-precious stones and diamonds. I want to use real precious metals and stones of value as I want my jewelry to be kept and worn for many years.

What made you decide to sell on etsy?
It seemed like the perfect platform to test my designs and the ease of setting up my shop was of great appeal.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I find inspiration in many things small and large, natural and man-made, living and inert. Every piece of jewelry is made by hand and is therefore unique.

What is your favorite music to craft by?
I listen to independent music or classical. Often i listen to NPR to take a break from music.

When it's cold outside...I wish it was snowing

When I'm hungry...I think about my mom's cooking.

When I need a boost...I drink earl grey tea with cream.

I wish I was/were... scuba diving in the tropics.

If I could give one gift to everyone I know, it would be... peace

If I could have coffee with anyone, it would be...dostoyevsky

If you were an animal, what would you be? A bird

What's your favorite piece of your own? the open mouth snake ring

What are your favorite blogs/websites right now? scubaboard.com
