Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy: Inspiration Art Edition!

My office has never really been decorated - right now, it's kind of a catch-all room for junk, craft supplies, closet overflow, and officey stuff. But I'd love to get some cool art up on the walls, so I'm encouraged to spend more time in there. And maybe to clean up. :/

I'm thinking of putting up prints of people who inspire me. Scientists, artists, poets, musicians, authors. If I line my walls with their faces, maybe their creativity will seep into the room and energize me. Maybe? :)

Here's what I've found so far:

What do you think? I can't help but be great, surrounded by this greatness, right? Who would you add? What do you surround yourself with to inspire?

Pitcher Love!

Lately, I have been in love with pitchers. I have a few that I've found at garage sales and thrift stores, but I think I want to start a full-blown collection. Maybe I can display them on a high shelf in my kitchen. While I can appreciate modern styles, I love the curves and generous lines of rounded pitchers better. When I see them, I think of fertility, abundance and warmth. I've only purchased one of these (from Pottery Barn), but the rest caught my eye, so I may have to snap a few up.

{water pitcher from Pottery Barn - $9.99 with FREE SHIPPING}

{whale pitcher by Jonathan Adler - $95!!!!}

{creamy white pitcher - $14 - LOVE the faux bois!}

Do you have anything you want to start collecting soon? Where do you normally find your pieces?

Love... Whale Tissue Holders!

I saw these and almost died. Aren't they freaking awesome? I actually don't even use tissue - I don't own a single box. But I would go buy some if I could display it in this guy!

*keep an eye out for a Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy: Whale Edition coming up soon!*

Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy: Scandinavian Edition!

Scandinavian style is just cool. The clean lines, the repeated motifs, the bright colors and graphic nature. It's just cool, clean, crisp and refreshing. And as we head into a delightfully warm weekend here in Southern California (I know those of you on the East Coast are shaking your heads at me right now, but it's been chilly here!), I thought I'd share my Scandinavian etsy favorites with you! Enjoy!

Today is the last day to enter the Soleil Girl giveaway!

Focus On... Jane Joss! {And Free Shipping!}

I love plants and flowers, but I hate paying $10 for a bouquet of flowers that will last a few days! As for plants, I have a lovely selction, but they're outside, because Oliver likes to eat plants. So, when I saw Jane Joss, I thought, perfect! Plants that don't die, can be changed seasonally, and Oliver can't destroy! Hurray! Read on for an interview with the women behind Jane Joss and a free shipping code!

Tell me some basic info about yourself.

Jane Joss is an alias for Alyssa & Joslyn Krismer. We are sisters-in-law, best friends, and both mothers of two. We started Jane Joss in January of 2009 and are having a blast!

What made you decide to sell on etsy?
It just seemed like the perfect fit for what we were creating. We were, at the time, completely clueless about selling handmade goods. When we were convo'ed about a custom order within 15 minutes of posting our first listing we knew we were in the right place!

Where do you get your inspiration?
Nature, of course, was our initial inspiration. Now that we have our basic designs created, fabric is our biggest inspiration. We love finding new styles, designs, textures, and color combinations.

What is your favorite music to craft by?
I have to admit I craft listening to the television!

When it's cold outside... it means I get to wear a great jacket!

When I'm hungry... I try to ignore it, then head straight for the kitchen.

When I need a boost... have a girls night out.

I wish I was/were... on vacation.

If I could give one gift to everyone I know, it would be... a book.

If I could have coffee with anyone, it would be... my grandma.

If you were an animal, what would you be? a cat. I love naps!

What's your favorite piece of your own?
A mother-in-law's tongue plant made from a striped green fabric. It is so fun and unique.

What are your favorite blogs/websites right now?
I honestly don't read online much, but we love Design*Sponge, BHG.com, and any blog that features us! I am kind of addicted to eonline. Oh, Joslyn started a blog for our book club!

You can find Jane Joss
on etsy
and on facebook!

** FREE international shipping on floral branches through 10/31/10. Mention code "ED3BDay" in message to seller for a PayPal refund! **
