Giveaway Alert!

One of my fellow Etsyians and loyal followers (that sounds creepy), Ao Designs is having a giveaway for August! She makes very pretty stamped metal jewelry for people AND pets! Oliver might need to get a new tag...

You should enter her giveaway for a chance to win a personalized necklace like the one shown on the left!

Don't forget to check out her etsy, too, for more great jewelry!

Love... Vessels and Wares

These kitchen items from vesselsandwares are the perfect color. Evoking a windy day at the beach, a bowl of fruit on a back patio and a cuddle with a good book. They would make the perfect gift for a wedding or a housewarming!

MORE Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy

Santa Anita ware is hard to find, especially here in Southern Calilfornia :) but it always comes in such lovely colors. I LOVE the lovely heart shapes of the leaves in this piece from Sleepy Owl Vintage.
First of all, mixing bowls are the most versatile items EVER. You can use them to hold soap in the bathroom, keys in the entry, bracelets in the bedroom and paper clips in the study. Or maybe you could use them to mix things in the kitchen. Whatever floats your boat. AND it's pink! A light, muted pink :)
This one is from Aimee's Armoire.

Creamers are ALSO versatile. For pretty much the same things as mixing bowls, but especially for the things that require taller containers, like makeup brushes, pens, or even a small bunch of flowers.
This one is from J Bird Home.

I love the look of this suit from Jess James Jake; low backline, stretchy knit material with a definite texture, diagonal stripes and full butt coverage. It's so vintage as to be fresh again!

love... Federal Mugs

...these vintage orange Federal mugs from BellsandUnicorns. I have a collection of vintage restuarant-style mugs including some beautiful yellow Alor mugs. Bright colors and the thick fullness of pottery like this feels homey to me and makes me happy. The homey part is funny because I grew up with a set of the ugliest Corelle you've ever seen: white with olive green/brown flowers around the edges. Maybe these activate that part of my brain that imagines my future-version-all-grown-up-all-mine home. :)

I wonder what evolutionary purpose this served...

Apparently, Emperor Tamarin monkeys are related to Mr. Monopoly.

Cart-Worthy + Heart-Worthy

Hello all! I have a new CW + HW for you; this time featuring my fellow Etsyian and new blog buddy Agnes over at Knock.Knocking.

She makes the sweetest yarn wreaths and pomanders. I am completely in love with this wreath; the flowers, the birds, the colors! This makes me think of spring and lemonade on a porch and tire swings under large trees.

THAT'S another reason I like Agnes, her blog is written the way I think. Her descriptions of things are visceral and evocative. Images make me think of scenes, of smells and tastes and sounds and to read someone else write that way is like seeing into my own brain. :)
